This project holds a special place in my heart. For a semester themed around “Transformation” at Fachhochschule Potsdam, I drew inspiration from my roots in Guatemala—a country rich in natural diversity, with seven unique biomes packed into a remarkably small area. Each biome functions as a vibrant community, where plants and animals coexist in harmony within distinct habitats, contributing to Guatemala’s breathtaking landscapes.

For this project, I created a poster exploring the intricate connections between these ecosystems, presenting an abstract reimagining of Guatemala. By realigning and blending these vibrant regions, I celebrate the beauty of nature’s interconnectedness and honor the place that shaped me.

First, I divided the map of Guatemala into a different format and separated it into its seven biomes. Then, I added key landmarks for orientation, such as volcanoes, beaches, ruins, and more. I created the entire illustration by hand, and once I was satisfied with it, I scanned it to continue refining it digitally.
